The Dreams We Bring is the story of two people who have big dreams and and are working to make them come true. Scott is determined to restore and run an old movie theater despite economic obstacles and changing tastes. Ana, a Dreamer, is determined to go to college and to become a United States citizen.

Their actions, set-backs, and victories are seen through the eyes of Jackson, Scott’s teenage son. Without a dream of his own, Jackson is deeply skeptical of his Dad’s dream of buying and renovating an old movie theater and trying to run it. Ana has an even bigger dream–to become a U.S. citizen–and she has found herself battling against the government itself to make her dream come true. As Jackson gets to know Ana and other Dreamers, he begins to understand why dreams can be so powerful in peoples lives.

The Dreams We Bring is a modern family drama, a book whose themes reflect some of the problems and questions of modern day life.
